After you’ve selected an appointment for your patient, you will be taken to the “Referral Information” page. Here, you can add attachments, an ICD-10 code, and any additional notes that you’d like to include for the receiving provider. When you “Send to Patient” or "Send to Provider," you will also have a field to add the patient’s email address.
This brief article will help you navigate this page and give you all you need to use it well.
Uploading Documents
Blockit makes it easy to attach any file to your referral.
With just a few clicks, users can easily send referral orders, X-Ray files, office notes, clinical reports, or any other necessary documentation for the referral no matter the file type (.pdf, .jpg, .doc, etc.).
When uploading attachments, users may either
- Drag and drop the file
- Upload the file from their drive.
For the drag and drop method, simply select the file on your computer and drag it into the “Referral Orders” box.
To add a file directly, just click on the box icon and locate the file on your computer. Select open and wait for the file to complete.
If you need to remove a file, you can highlight the attachment and click the small trash-can icon on the right side of the screen.
Adding ICD-10 Code
Blockit also includes a field where you can input an ICD-10 code so that the receiving provider can easily see the diagnosis. Users can populate the field with the ICD-10 code or use our typeahead feature and make a selection from the dropdown menu.
Adding Notes
If you would like to add any notes to the referral, you can type your message directly into the text box.
Once you have filled in each of these fields, you will click “next” to confirm and send the referral.
