You will need the following data to complete this task:
- Sending provider’s name (even if it’s your own)
- Patient’s name
- Desired specialty
- Desired procedure
- Network group
When you log into Blockit, you automatically land on the “schedule a patient” page. If you are coming from another page, all you have to do is click on the “schedule a patient” tab or the large Blockit logo to return to this screen.
Begin filling out the necessary fields by identifying the sending physician from the drop down list. This is important even if you are sending provider. Use typeahead to search for the patient with their first and last name in either order.
Once you've clicked "search," you will be taken to a new screen where you can verify the patient demographic information and your search criteria.
On this page, users can search for a specific profile or organization and filter results by languages, insurance carriers, and insurance plans. You may also access the map feature and sort your results by distance, soonest available appointment, or most available provider. By default, the system searches for profiles with the soonest availability within a 25 mile radius of the patient's given zip code.
After you’ve narrowed your results as much as you’d like, you can select the desired time from an open physician’s slot. If you do not see any available times, click the arrows until a time slot opens up.
Next you will attach referral orders, enter an ICD-10 code, add any notes and then click next.
Look over your referral information to make sure everything looks right and then confirm your appointment.
