The following article provides information on receiving a referral and viewing the referrals tab.
When a sending physician refers a patient, the receiving physician’s office will receive an email with a link to the referral details page. Click on the link to be redirected to that page.
Once on the referral details page, the patient’s information can be viewed in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Use this information to follow the normal process for contacting the patient and confirming their appointment after receiving a referral.
Near the middle of the referral details screen, there are three small tab options that says “Referral”, “Appointment”, and “Chat.” The referral tab provides information on the type of referral, while the appointment tab gives the appointment date, time, and practice information for the patient's referral. The chat option allows for users to chat back and forth on the patient referral, as shown below.
If needing to track all patient referrals, the user can click the “Referrals” tab in the blue toolbar. A list of referrals will pop up starting with the most recently created appointment. This screen shows the status of the referral, appointment, sending and receiving information, as well as the visit type for the patient referral.
One feature recently added is that the referral shows whether there are attachments associated with the referral, as shown below. Another update is that the patient MRN is available just under the patient name in the referral details page and the search on this screen will retain the patient information upon returning to that screen.
Furthermore, this referral details screen has additional filtering options to set the view and to download .csv reports based on the filtered options. The default view is set to Last 30 days of referrals, but can be configured by sending a message to blockit support.
