In this article, we will look at how to schedule a patient with Blockit Basic.
When you first log in to the Blockit homepage, you will automatically land on the “Schedule a Patient” page. If you are coming from another page on the platform, all you have to is click on the “Schedule a Patient” tab or click the large Blockit logo in the upper left-hand corner to return to this screen.
The first step of scheduling a patient is selecting the sending provider from the drop-down menu. This is an important step even if you are that sending provider.
To add a patient, click “Add New Patient.” Then, a side panel will appear where you can enter all the necessary information for the patient. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk, but we highly recommend inputting all the suggested data as well.
*Due to Blockit Basic being a non-integrated version of Blockit, manual patient entry is required for each patient. If you would like to find out more about Blockit Plus or Pro, click here.*
After you finish identifying the patient, you will select a specialty and then a procedure from the respective dropdown menus. Lastly, you will choose a network group to search within and click “Search.”
The next screen allows you to verify patient demographic information and further refine your search criteria by searching for a specific provider or filtering by language, insurance options, distance, and availability.
Once you’ve refined your search as much as you’d like, you will find the appropriate provider and book the appointment.
When you locate the provider you’d like to book with, you may notice a few options for how you can send the referral. You can either “Send to Patient”, “Send to Provider”, or book directly by selecting an open time slot. This video focuses on the standard option of selecting an available time slot. For more information on “Sending to Patient” and “Sending to Provider,” please visit those relevant job aides.
To select an available time slot, simply click on the appropriate, open slot. You can also use the arrows to look for more open options in case there are no open spots visible.
After you’ve made your selection you will be taken to the Referral Information page where you can add Referral Orders, ICD-10 code, and any additional notes. Click next to be taken to the final confirmation page.
Look over your referral information to make sure everything looks right and then confirm your appointment.
